HEARING BACK
Due to the volume of applications we receive, unfortunately it’s just not possible to reply to everyone.
We do read through every application and we do appreciate the time is takes to apply.
If we feel we may be able to help you further, then we will contact you to set up a meeting. This is normally within 2-4 weeks of your application.
Unfortunately if you don’t hear back from us, it means we are unable to help at this time.
Please do not follow up with phone calls, or chase us with emails.
You are welcome to re-submit your application at a later date, if you are still interest in representation with us.
THE NEXT STAGE
If we feel we may be able to help you, then we will contact you via email to set up a meeting with you.
Depending on the work we can see, you may be asked to prepare a short piece (monologue) to perform to us during the meeting.
The meeting is an opportunity for us to get to know you better and to explore whether we might be a good fit to work together.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask at any point. It’s important that you get to know us as much as we get to know you.
The meeting usually lasts between approx. 30 minutes to an hour.
AFTER THE MEETING
We will email you the same day of the meeting to let you know if you have been successful with an offer of representation and with the agency contract for you to read through and sign.
We will also let you know the same day if we feel we are unable to offer you representation at this time and provide any feedback.
F.A.Q
ARE YOU A SPOTLIGHT REGISTERED AGENT?
Yes we are a Spotlight registered agency. We also use Tagmin through Spotlight and our actors are able to update their availability and details through the Tagmin app.
ARE YOUR BOOKS OPEN FOR REPRESENTATION?
Yes, our books are currently open to actors looking for representation.
IS THERE A JOINING FEE?
No, we never charge a fee to join our agency. We take commission from work secured, the percentage of which will be listed in your contract.
ARE THERE ANY AGE RESTRICTIONS?
We represent actors and talent that are aged 16 years and older. If you are aged 15 and are seeking representation, you are still welcome to apply and we will be in touch if we are able to help.
DO I NEED TO BE LONDON BASED?
Whilst most of the work secured is centred around London and as such we prioritise artists that are based in the London area for these roles. We do represent actors and talent throughout England and Ireland, in particular the Manchester area.
You must be based in the UK or Ireland and be a British citizen or have the legal requirements to work in the UK. We do not represent anyone who is not UK/Ireland based.
WHAT WORK CAN I EXPECT?
Even though we specialise in screen (TV, music videos and film), commercials and digital media. We submit our talent for all sorts of industry work including theatre, musicals, corporates, TV, music videos, commercials, social media campaigns, short and feature films, etc.
As the industry is ever evolving, the flexibility to adjust to different areas is ever more important.
An agent cannot guarantee work. An agents job (amongst lots of other things!) is to try and get you in front of industry and casting professionals. This is done through contacts, submissions, your auditions, self taping, meetings, etc.
As an actor it’s important you give yourself the best possible chance to help ‘you’ secure work:
- ensure you are easily contactable
- ensure you constantly update your availability to us
- ensure your headshots are up to date and look like you
- ensure your showreel is up to to date
- ensure you read through casting/audition briefs and breakdowns thoroughly
- always be on time for auditions/castings/jobs
- always meet the deadline for self-tape auditions
- always be professional and courteous throughout the audition/casting/job
- be proactive in looking for work, making industry connections and keeping up to date with the industry and your skills
- manage your expectations – it can take time, so patience is always required. The industry is an oversaturated and unpredictable one. There will be periods of time when it is quiet, just as there will be periods when it’s all go-go-go.
As an agent we are always here for you. It’s a partnership and if you don’t work, then we don’t earn commission and therefore we do not get paid. So trust us when we say we want you to succeed!
What you may not see (or sometimes forget) is that behind the scenes we work long hours and work extremely hard for you and we truly want the best for you and your career.
Communication, trust and patience between one another is absolutely key.
I DON'T HAVE A SHOWREEL YET, CAN I STILL APPLY?
If you are looking for representation, we strongly suggest you do have a showreel as this forms part of your C.V.
We want to see your on-screen abilities and talent, if we can’t see this then it makes it more difficult to represent you.
Before we can consider anyone for representation we need to see you perform. A self-taped audition piece would work in the meantime and we do accept these as part of your application.
Whilst you are still welcome to apply without a showreel, we would strongly recommend you get one if you are represented by us.
It’s important to note that a showreel doesn’t have to cost a lot of money, especially with the technology and screen editing programmes widely available at people’s finger tips.
Please DO NOT send video files through emails as part of your application – please instead include the link to your spotlight page or your youtube/vimeo page (or your website if you have one) where we can view the video. We do not open or download videos sent through emails and the email along with your application will be deleted.
I DON'T HAVE A HEADSHOT YET, CAN I STILL APPLY?
Your headshots are the first thing any agent or casting professional will see, so they are incredibly important. Your headshot represents ‘you’.
Whilst you are still welcome to apply to our agency without a professional headshot, you will be required to have professional headshots taken if you are represented by us.
We do not have any in-house photographers and we are not affiliated with any industry photographers. However, we will certainly advise you on how to get the best headshots that represents you.
I'M GRADUATING SOON, CAN I APPLY?
Absolutely. One of our biggest strengths is nurturing and guiding our talent, so if you are a recent graduate, or you are graduating soon, please do apply.
